About Jill Winch SBA DIP.EGS
Education and training
Jill initially trained as a graphic artist but in later years studied botanical painting. This enabled her to study plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables and to depict them in a variety of mediums.
Since Jill’s initial studies she attended the Chelsea Physic Garden where she gained her Diploma in Botanical Painting.
Jill is a member of the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) and exhibits at their annual exhibition in London.

She currently teaches her subject to different art societies and holds regular classes from her Garden Studio in Hertfordshire, where students are surrounded by the many beautiful flowers and plants they are shown how to paint, both in watercolour and coloured pencils.
Jill’s approach is to encourage all levels of ability and she has taught students from beginners through to exhibition levels.
She holds painting holidays in Tuscany, has tutored regularly in Galway, Ireland, Missenden Abbey and more recently taught coloured pencil courses around the beautiful Thetford Forest.
